IP and the Future of Carrier Business Strategies

Telecom wholesale carriers are pursuing all manner of business strategies to anticipate the world “Beyond Telecom”: Central to Boardroom thinking everywhere is how to incorporate and adjust to IP, meet consumer expectations for new services, and maintain operating margins that keep investors happy. The traditional voice business has been rocked to its roots but video bandwidth is skyrocketing thanks to 3G, consumer broadband and P2P applications.  Still, competition and regulatory uncertainty continue to magnify investment risk. With the technology and market shifts underway, do wholesale providers have an opportunity to shift their position in the services value chain?  How will wholesale strategies evolve with the changing complexion of consumer-facing services? What are the capital requirements for the next phases of growth? This Keynote roundtable will debate core carrier business strategies changing our world.
