Session 1: “Communications as a Strategic Disaster-Recovery Tool”

Pre-positioning and rapid deployment of communications and “all-hazard” response systems is essential for first responders and emergency managers to prepare for and mitigate both natural and man-made disasters.  From the world’s great cities to the smallest and moist vulnerable villages, access to cost-effective connectivity, real-time hazard assessment and integrated data management tools are imperative for ensuring humanitarian assistance, disaster recovery, and emergency management. This first session of two on communications for disaster management will explore the how, when, where and why of the latest solutions for emergency management and response.
