MALAYSIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA COMMISSION

As Head of International Affairs for the MCMC, Sulyna is responsible for the implementation of the Commission’s international policies and strategies, as well as dealings and liaison.

In March 2000, Sulyna joined the Industry Policy and Regulation Division of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. A year later she established the Commission’s International Affairs Department. In May 2002, her portfolio expanded to include Corporate Affairs. To date, Sulyna considers her work in the licence migration task force to be one of her most significant achievements in the MCMC.

She led the team which established ASEANconnect, a website encompassing the work of the ASEAN Telecommunications and IT Ministers, Senior Officials and Regulators and has represented the Commission at international meetings and conferences.

Sulyna was recently appointed as founding Director of the ICT Centre for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a position she will hold until 2009.
