RICHARD H. CURRIER
President and Chief Operating Officer
Loral Skynet

RICHARD H. CURRIER, is president and chief operating officer of Loral Skynet, a global provider of fixed satellite services (FSS) and integrated communications solutions.  Prior to assuming his role as Skynet’s president, Rich was responsible for leading the company’s engineering and business operations activities.  His extensive expertise in developing, deploying, and managing satellite and network-based communications has been central to creating the financially strong and market-responsive company that Skynet is today.

Rich joined Loral Skynet as vice president of research and development in 1997.   Prior to that, Rich was with Skynet’s predecessor organizations in AT&T Bell Laboratories for 17 years.  Over the course of his extensive career in satellite, terrestrial, and network communications, Rich has managed development programs in the UHF band and L-band for the Telstar/G satellite, and in the Ka-band for the VoiceSpan system.  

More recently, he has managed Skynet teams responsible for service development, engineering, and customer technical support utilizing the company’s Telstar satellites, and developed global network solutions that support the SkyReachsm family of IP-based services.

Rich earned a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in New Jersey, and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.
