Conference Program Abstract For some, Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC), is merely a dream. Providing differentiated services for wireless VoIP and cellular calls over a single device initially appears more challenging than originally suspected. But, it’s a challenge that can be surmounted and one carriers should tackle none-the-less. This presentation will discuss how IMS lays the foundation for a successful FMC strategy by enabling full seamless mobility and supporting ubiquitous personalized services. IMS also ensures that triple play services - voice, data and video - are all uniformly delivered. And because IMS is based on SIP, new multimedia applications can be rapidly developed today resulting in new revenue generating services deployed at a lower cost, and with a migration path for complete FMC.
